The Ingredients

Angela

Angela is the primary author of More Sugar Than Spice and is a stay at home mom in Castle Rock, CO. She teaches Sunday School to preschoolers because she figures she at least knows a little more about the bible than the four year olds she teaches. She is a self-proclaimed work in progress, and is considered the ’spice’ in this recipe.

Daddy

Daddy will occasionally write in More Sugar Than Spice, however since he is a web designer by trade he reads more blogs than he writes and often comments ‘the shoe makers children have no shoes’. He currently works for the University of Colorado, which he also graduated from in 2003. He also owns Pixel Nine Design and stays busy with volunteer church work, his side business and his ‘honey do’ list provided by Angela.

Monkey

Monkey was born in February of 2005 and quickly became the sugar in the recipe. She’s sweet and kind, and everything Angela has always wanted to be. But, don’t let that fool you - sometimes she will bring about a little bitterness just to make you say hmmmm…

Caterpillar

Caterpillar is due in November of 2008. He is already a big boy and Angela expects him to bring some ‘bang’ to the recipe. He is already very active and Monkey is excited for his arrival.

Stinky Magoo

Stinky Magoo is our mini-English Bulldog, Bluto.  He carries this honorable name because he is the only dog I have ever met that will pee and poop on himself and not care.  He will do it in his kennel, outside, or anywhere that suits his fancy.  I guess that was in the fine print with the description of his breed, but it’s still disgusting, and as a result he has become the most pampered dog in the West.  He has spa treatments, gets his nails filed and will run and jump in the tub when the water is turned on.  He’s become a priss, but even when he’s just been cleaned, he still stinks.

Papa

Papa is Monkeys Grandpa. He and Monga live in a nearby town called Elizabeth and watched Brooklyn for the first year of her life while Angela worked in the cooperate world. Papa and Monkey have the same sweet tooth and love of life. Papa’s touch has always worked magic with Monkey, and even when Monkey is being bitter, Papa’s sweetness melts her heart.

Monga

Monga is Monkeys Grandma. She lives in Elizabeth with Papa and has recently found herself with a houseful, since Aunt Toni and her two kids came back on the scene. Monga and Papa own a plastic injection mold shop in Elizabeth and she manages the day to day activity. She has raised four kids of her own, and at about five feet tall her flavors have molded and crafted the family recipe into what it has become today.

Jacob and Maddie

Jacob and Maddie are Monkey’s cousins. They currently live in Elizabeth, and Monkey loves to spend time with them.
