The Best Italian Food… PERIOD

Sunday, February 21st, 2010

Being an Italian mama myself, I do not know if I can say Abrusci’s is The Best Italian food… Period, (because my mama may not like that!) but it’s pretty darn good.  Coupled with the fact that when Daddy called and spoke to the owner/chef, Steve, he shared they had separate GF hardware and a full gluten free menu, Daddy knew it would be worth a shot for our anniversary dinner.

We arrived a little early, so we started the night off right:

Once our table was ready we were handed menus which I barely glanced at knowing I would need to ask for a gluten free menu.  When the sever returned with more wine, I asked for one, at which point he informed me that was the gluten free menu…. all 6 pages of it.  I think I peed a little. (more…)

A Lifetime Of Beautiful Smiles

We had a dentist appointment at Peak View Dental today for Monkey to get a filling.  I was nervous for a couple of reasons.  First, my baby was getting a filling!  Second, we have had some issues with one of the staff members and usually when I am put in a situation like that I just stop going to the business.  However, Monkey’s cavity has been getting bigger and bigger and it was finally time to resolve it.  Also, it was hard to walk away because we LOVE it there.

When Daddy and I have work done, we get to lay under a warm blanket in a massage chair, watch a movie and have our hands dipped in parafin wax during the visit.  Seriously, it’s the Rolls Royce of dentistry.

Monkey has had such a great experience there and she loves to show us the flossing techniques they taught her.  Because of her experiences there, she absolutely loves to go to the dentist.  So, we were torn. (more…)

I’m In Love With My Milkman

I have never been a milk drinker.  Never.

When I met Daddy he drank about a gallon of milk a day.

Because of his influence, over the years I have had milk with dinner most nights.

Then along came the Royal Crest Dairy salesman.  He gave us a sample and let me tell you, I am hooked.

I love that it’s delivered in the wee hours of the morning.  Long before even the earliest alarm clock (Daddy’s) goes off.  It comes on a day when we don’t have school and we spend the morning being lazy.  It’s the perfect start to a lazy day. (more…)
