Scarred

When I was pregnant with Monkey I started getting horrible heartburn.  She had a lot of hair when she was born (hence her nickname) so I figured the wives tale about the correlation between the two was accurate.  After she was born, the heartburn continued, and actually got worse.

After about a year, I started throwing up after I would eat because the heartburn was so bad.  I finally went into the doctor, and she told me I had gallstones and had to have my gallbladder removed.  I had a stone stuck in the valve, therefore it was considered emergent.  Less than 48 hours later my gallbladder and my heartburn were gone. Fishing For Fun

My dad had given Monkey a fishing pole and loaded tackle box for her birthday.  Even though Monkey’s birthday is in February, and we knew we’d have to wait to use them, I thought it was a great idea… and pretty creative for my dad!

Well, it has been so unseasonably warm here, so out of the blue my dad called and said he was planning a fishing trip to the local lake.  This also suprised me because normally my dad is so busy, and often doesn’t see the kids except on holidays and special occasions. (more…)

Happy Birthday Daddy

Daddy and my moms boyfriend share a birthday.  So this year we decided to go to my moms, cook a big turkey dinner and just hang out.  Before heading over, I went to the gym to work out, knowing I would likely overeat later.

As we were leaving the gym, I was standing in the exit talking to a good friend from church.  Monkey began coughing, and then puked all over the place, including her brother and his carseat.  She looked just as surprised as I was, so we cleaned up and headed to my moms, in hopes it was just from too much play at the gym.
